Amplitudes of superimposed waves are additive. The answer is “the sum of”. This, incidentally, is the source of so-called Rogue Waves on the ocean.
It depends upon its frequencies. If they are same it will be more dangerous .The amplitude will increase enormously. That is why the march past by police or army should not be carried out over the bridge. It may even break the bridge.
