: How would you say the phrase “be love” in french?
By “be love” I mean to be the noun love (to be more loving). I’ve seen 2 translations but was curious as to which one closely fits the meaning that I’m looking for:
Etre l’amour vs. a’ l’amour

if you really mean to say “to be love”, as in you’re calling somebody the noun ‘love’

être l’amour

but it hardly makes any sense

be love this is the imperative mood, so be is “sois” singular or “soyez” plural.
If you speak to several people: soyez amour!

Acrolake is correct. «Être l’amour» does not make much sense, perhaps you meant to say to be in love with: «Être amoureux» or «amoureuse» for a lady.
Beloved would be «Le bien-aimé» or «La bien-aimée» for a lady.

Darling → Chéri(e).
