Answer by hdhayes60If your finances allow, invest in a brand-name digital SLR, such as Canon. These allow interchangeable lenses and complete manual control of all settings. The “automatic” setting is okay for casual photography, but it doesn’t always produce the effect you desire. Also, there are numerous sites on the internet that offer free photography tutorials.Answer by David C
i’m a photographer who likes to do a bit of macro work. if your looking for a good camera, it really depends on what your budget is. if your looking for a consumer digital camera you can’t go wrong with the sony cybershot DSC W80. It has a Carl Zeiss f/2.8 to 5/5.6 zoom lens with 7.2 megapixel resoultion and super steady shot technology. Basically what that means is that you can take high quality snapshots of whatever your want, without being too close to the subject, and with great clarity.
Now if your looking to have greater flexibility with your pictures, you could go get a digital SLR (single lens reflex) camera. The one I use is a Canon Rebel XTi/400D and it’s amazing. Of course it is going to be a lot more expensive than a consumer digital camera. Since I do a lot of macro work with jewelry, I needed the extra flexibility of the interchange lenses.
There are great stores online such as shutterbug.com, adorama.com and of course, the one and only EBAY.com. I’d also recommend you pick up the book Canon Digital Rebel Field guide, if you want to go the SLR route. Whichever camera you choose, i wish you the best of luck in in photography endeavors!
Answer by David MI suggest you get an entry level Digital SLR with a wide angle lens. The kit lens that will come with the camera will probably be fine to start with. After you learn how to use your camera you can look at a wider lens for your landscape shots. Some cameras to look at would be
Canon XTi or XSi
Nikon D40 or D60
These will run between $ 500 and $ 1,000 with a lens.
I to live in Maryland and the best camera store around is Penn Camera. They have locations in Baltimore, Pikesville, Lutherville, Laurel, DC, and Northern Virginia.
I also suggest you take a class and learn how to use your camera properly. You will be happier with it and your photographs will be better for it. I believe Penn Camera offers beginner classes. You can also look at your local community college.
Answer by DivyaI’m really only 12 years old, but I too love photography. And nature?? I love nature more than my own life. Looks like you do too… join my eco-friendly group if u want to.
So, about your question. You can use any camera at all (hey I don’t know much about them)… I guess the small ones (what do you call them?) are better… I use them…
