7596: How do I ask my mom for permission to get a hotel/motel room after prom?
There’s going to be endless amounts of things to do after prom like, eating & partying, all the way till the crack of dawn.
I want to get a cheap motel room with my best friend of whom my mom is very familiar with.

I want to tell my mom my plans, but I’m afraid she’s going to think I’m going to rent a room to have sex! That’s not the case. I just want to have an amazing night to remember.

When you ask, offer to have her pop in anytime during the night unannounced. That will prove to her that your intentions are on the up & up.

i wouldnt let u go cuz idk who will be thr and if someone would hurt u buut ifu want u can tell her ull text her every 30 minutes or so so that she knows ur fine

Just tell her…then, if she says what you think she’s gonna say, tell her….

“Look mom, you’re wrong. But, I am gonna drink and get wasted. You won’t give me permission to get a hotel/motel room? Okay then, I’ll drive drunk…probably, or get into an accident and die…then it on YOU momsy.”

She’ll give you the permission.

But, on second thought…why do you need permission? I don’t think you need permission to get a room…are you talking about permission from her? Screw that…just get a room and deal with her afterwards…what’s she gonna do? Take away your birthday or somethin?

if youre willing to pay for it, go for it, if not stay at someone’s home, its a lot cheaper

If you were my kid, you wouldn’t even dare ask me something like that. No way would I okay a hotel room for my kid to share with her friends. Like it or not, a hotel room just screams “Sex! Party! Drugs!”

i have prom coming up too and you probably dont want a hotel/motel room because if you wake other people up they may kick you out. what you want to do sounds like a lot of fun though. maybe at somebody’s house? if you can be quieter and hang out i would just do it in somebody’s room. but idk, thatd be less exciting…

If you’re young enough that you’d need parental permission to stay at a hotel, then you shouldn’t be staying at a hotel.

Tell her “everyone is staying at this hotel afterwards”.
That way it seems more normal and not like you’re the only doing it or trying to be sneaky.

You’re old enough now, you should be able to go. Don’t worry.
