Is it alright for a 16 year old to open up a paypal. I know you have to be 18 to open up a bank account but I’m not planning to withdraw the money or put it into a bank account

I just want to use the money on the paypal account to buy things online
(not from eBay)

you MUST be 18 to have Pay Pal account in your own name. Maybe a parent will open one for you with YOUR money so you can participate at eBay auctions.

Both Paypal and eBay require you to be 18.

Paypal is pretty darn good at detecting liars–when it does, it freezes the account until you can prove you are 18.

Also, exactly how were you planning to pay for stuff on Paypal? Paypal doesn’t accept prepaid cards of any kind (this is intentional to weed out underaged users) and you don’t have a bank account or a credit card to attach. You are also too young to use Moneypak.
