continentalprintingsupplies: need help with “found new hardware”.?
My computer keeps saying that it found new hardware, and wants me to install it. so i say – ok. it connects to the internet and cannot find what it is looking for. then it says there may be problems with the installation and the device may not work properly.
i am running win xp media edition. hp pavilion a1330n.
the device is VID_04E6PID_80000040.
i have seen this before on my old computer, but i don’t know what it goes with to fix the problem.
can you help???
thanks
no scanner, no installation cd – don’t know where it came from to try, even. which is why i’m asking.
i’ll try the hp site again, but i’ve installed all the updates, so we’ll see.
thanks!!

do you have a canon scanner on that computer? if you do, go to canon.com and download the latest driver for your scanner model and install it.
That device should have come with an installation CD. One of the options on “Found new hardware” is to use your installation CD. It contains the drivers for your new hardware.Answer by davidis99
Go to the HP website, lookup your PC model, then download the appropriate drivers (video, other) that you may need. If this is a third-party video card, go to the website of the manufacturer and download the drivers.
