Mackenzie: My little Sister wants to highlight her hair. What age should she start?
My little sister is 10 and she has light/medium brown hair. She wants to get it highlighted and i agree but I heard it damages your hair. Is it Low Lights that damage your hair?? Or is it both?

Personally, I don’t see the purpose of a young child altering their hair color at all. Any chemicals that you put on your hair is going to damage it. Whether its high lights, low lights, complete coverage, straighteners, etc….. its all something that is going to ultimately damage her hair. Since there is no NEED for her to being doing it, I don’t think it should be done at all.
It’s fine, they’re much less harsh now and there are conditioners (hydrating or moisturizing) to help keep hair great. I’ve been dying my hair since I was in the fourth grade and, I’ve never had a split-end :). Other friends have never died their hair and it’s terrible, very full of split ends and dry, damaged.
