Well, if Ian is supporting the book idea, then he is using the internet to find out something by emailing his friends. Second, If his friends have an e-mail, more than likely, they will say the internet, too. then this will make his results inacurate.
1. By emailing them, he is already choosing people who have a liking to the internet, and so will probably agree with his statement and he won’t get a fair answer that represents the general population.
2. He has made his statement too general. Because most kids will use the internet to find out most things, but if he had said “…for finding information” or “…for finding school help” or something like that, he may get a better answer from them.
Hope that’s what your looking for
Answer by David1) he is showing that he is already biased
2) asking only his friends may not give accurate resultsAnswer by Siobhan H
1.He’s asking a yes/no question so he’s not going to find out what the others think is the best way – he’ll either know that they think the internet’s better or a book’s better but they might prefer some other way.
2.He’s not picking random people – his friends come from the same social group as him and will probably have very similar preferences whereas children from a different social group would have different ones so the result won’t be accurate for the general population.Answer by Jun Agruda
1. It tends to discourage people from using the book as a good and accurate source of information.
2. Many information from Internet are not subjected to the scrutiny of the authorities as to their accuracy and instead of helping the users it could even mislead them.
