Looking for a French phrase that approximately means “caught mid coitus”?

nicknackpattywack: Looking for a French phrase that approximately means “caught mid coitus”?
I know there is a French phrase that is used by English speakers for “caught in the act.” A euphemism for walking on two people having sex. Know what it is?

Thanks.
not coitus interruptus, but that would be correct.

I heard this used on Veronica Mars. The scene was this
guy: I walked into the room and caught them in…
veronica: (French phrase)
guy: no, they were having sex
in flagrante delecto is right, sorry guys, i thought it was french. Thanks!

Answer by M E A
in flagrante delicto (latin though’ – screw the french)

Answer by Navigator
Latin, not French: in flagrante delicto. It means “caught in the act” in general … the usual context is seeing a crime in progress OR walking on two people having sex.

BTW, “coitus interruptus” refers to the “pull out” method (totally unreliable) of birth control.

In response to your additional details: I’d say Veronica got the phrase right, while the guy is totally clueless (a. la. Homer Simpson).

Don’t know about French.

A common Latin phrase used in English is “flagrante delicto” – to be caught in flagrante delicto.

1. In the very act of committing an offense; red-handed. 2. In the act of having sex.

Latin – while the crime is blazing

Answer by hjz
the phrase is : en flagrant déli …….caught in the act ………

Answer by blum19
There are many literal translations:

attrapé dans l’acte

attrapé tout en ayant des rapports

attrapé tout en baisant

Choose the one that best suits you.

Answer by MamaFrog
Granted, English speakers are more likely to use the Latin phrase. But since you asked, the French phrase is, as hjz wrote, “en flagrant délit” (except he/she left out the “t”).
