laptop???!?

i have a HP laptop, and it works and all but i dont have internet service right now. i have to have someone come and hook up the internet thing or whatever so it can be a wireless. my ? is, if i want to keep my laptop in my room but dont have a phone jack can i do this??? as u can tell i suck with computers so this is new for me…..

If your laptop gets a wireless connection it won’t need a phone jack. I have a wireless network card in mine and I can carry it all over the house and still be connected to the internet.

I love wireless. It’s made my life so much easier.

Your best bet is to have a cable broadband set up with a wireless router, then you can use the laptop anywhere in the house. phone line wont matter. But if all you can get is a DSL broadband, the same applies, get a wireless router and you will be able to use it anywhere in the house.

First you need to no what Internet service you want.I do have some suggestion to not get the phone cord Internet because it ties your calls up and while you are on the Internet you can’t get no phone calls.so if i was you i would get the Internet with out the cord and you don’t have to have any one to come over to hook it up.they mail a CD Ron and you install it to your computer.thats how you get the internet on any computer.
