Very much so, It is like getting a new “toy” like a new car or a new phone, it is awesome at first. You want to drive all the time or call people you havent talked to in years just to use your new toy. Then you loose intrest as time goes bye. Money though, most people who have lots are very frugal with it and never get tired of it…I know I would not!

If accumulating ‘stuff’ is the goal, it will never be satisfied. Never.
Materialist behaviors are never satisfied, pleased nor happy.
If using the possession is the objective, then the use of the item remains enjoyable; can actually increase with each time its used.

Gratification is a personal variable, according to taste. Abundance or scarcity is very different, dealing sometimes with your survival.
My take is that gathering material stuff is a means of self-validation, declaring your place in your world. Not related to satisfaction, when you can be comfortable with only a few essential possessions, but those are valued in daily use, and for aesthetic reward.
Consider the taste evident in classic Japanese homes, with their understated sense of luxury; subtle but effective.
