Micheal: Is watching football important to be a good player?
Im going to be a freshman this year and I play running back. This is going to be my 2nd year of football. My dad always talks to me about how I should watch the game and this and that but I dont understand how just watching it helps so much. He acts like I do nothing at all when the only thing I dont do is watch the game. I dont see how it can help so much by just watching them play when you can actually go practice yourself. So is it as important as he says it is?

absolutly just like a general on the battlefield knowing your enemy is the most important thing you can do. and being in good shape is just as important. watching strategies will help you but if you can watch games of the team you are going to play a week before you play them and learn what they do and how they do it you will be able to proform better on the field when you recognize a manuver.
I would say yes. I am not a football player, but if I watch anything it helps me do it. By watching you see how other people do it, you see the strategy and the way they do things. By watching, you learn, and because you know they are good players, this will make you think that you should do what they do. Use the pro’s strategies. That’s what I do when I stink at something. I watch the pros do it. If I suck at a video game, I watch pros do it, I find out what is the best way to play, and I do it. If I can’t make something work, I watch someone else do it, and then I observe how they do it and it works for me the next time. Always watch what others do it they are better than you at something, you will learn.Answer by porjaymaspazzatron
When you’re not practicing something, you should at least learn more about it. I don’t play football, but I know that it helps to do something related to your sport for at least 5 minutes a day, especially if you aren’t playing it. If you watch professional running backs, it will more than likely give you a better idea of what you have to do to be good. I’m a runner, and every day I try to find ways to make myself better, whether it’s reading about nutrition and stuff like that or watching the pros and their form to improve my own. So, even though personal experience is definitely better, at the very least watching others will help you.Answer by True
Yes it is. Why do you think coaches make players watch tape. You have to watch and learn. I think watching tape is important in any sport. Kobe is the best and he still watches alot of tape. To get better and to learn his opponents. Watch the defense watch the player who plays the position you want to play. Playing is important but you also need to watch tape and learn the game even more. Pro’s still watch so you who aren’t there yet should watch it also.Answer by Nicholas
Well watching football does help, but you can’t depend on it. You’re not doing nothing when you don’t watch it, but it helps to show you stuff like footwork, where to move, and something like that. I hope my answer helped. 🙂
