Is there any way to sync my google calendar with my work outlook calendar without using google sync?

Lisa: Is there any way to sync my google calendar with my work outlook calendar without using google sync?
Work recently “upgraded” our software and nobody, including the IT department, can download and install programs. I had previously used google sync quite happily to merge my work and personal calendars and view both at work and on my iphone. Is there any way to get this functionality without google sync?

Short answer – no.

Log a request to have the functionality added back. I’m afraid I find it hard to believe that the IT group -can’t- install software, if it doesn’t screw up other things on your machine.

However, they may have a -policy- of not installing third-party products, which is fair enough, given the hassle they can cause a work desktop. By making an official request, they should at least tell you whether that’s the policy or not.

Unless and until your work IT fixes this problem, your only reasonable solution is to run Google Sync from another location. See if you can access your Outlook calendar externally or export it to your home computer.
