Mr. Freeze: Is there a limit on how people can live in one house?
I live in a rent house with housemates. My friend(and one of the housemates) Dad owns the house and rents it out to us so he doesn’t really care what we do as long as it’s not illegal and doesn’t disturb the neighbors(more renters of his). It’s a 3bedroom,3bathroom house. Basically each room is like a master bedroom with a WIC & bathroom(the Dad had it renovated). With that out of the way, right now there’s six people(5 adults and one infant) that live here with visitors in and out fairly often(family & close friends).
I’m just curious to see if there’s a limit to how many people can stay in a house this size? If there is,what’s the purpose of having the limit?

I highly doubt it…
As far as I understand, it is not illegal as long as the house is safe and clean as well as all possible escape routes are free…that mostly falls under safe and clean though.Answer by james
Check with city hall.
Most places have a regulation about such things.
Usually you must have “X” square feet per person,
“X” number of toilets per person,
“X” number of fire exits per person.
So, lets say you have to have 100 sq. feet per person…..great, perhaps you have a 2000 sq ft house..
but then they say, 1 bathroom can service 5 people….you say great, I have 2 baths
but then they say 1 fire exit can service 3 people, and you have 2….
you’re only legal to 6 people !
Other municipalities (<–damn big word) have other limits!
