Scott: Is the choice of world leaders to act militarily in Libya the start of World War III?
If NATO does to Libya what it did to Iraq and Afghanistan, I’m moving out of the country!
I think I agree with Saint now.
Mike W – Mhm, exactly. Let’s not forget that Libya is located in a region that would be beneficial for countries like Spain, France, England, and the U.S. to set up permanent military bases. Something isn’t right with this picture.

Anyone who jumps in on the side of Qaddafi deserves what’s coming to ’em.
And I don’t remember anyone jumping in on the side of Qaddafi the last time we bombed the sh!t out of him personally.
Answer by mommanukeThe would require Libya having a sufficient number of allies with military power to create another side. The Arab League has all voted against him. I think he has friends in Zimbabwe, but Mugabe doesn’t have a military that can do anything but kill anyone who opposes him. I don’t know of any other allies he has, so it would be a real short “world” war.Answer by bluechristy

The choice to intervene in Libya, by the leaders of some European nations, may have more to do with protecting their oil shipments than any publicly stated humanitarian reasons. I don’t think that this will be the event that launches WW III.Answer by A B
Its just another step in getting control of major resources in the region, then in time, after the deaths of countless innocent lives (NATO/US collateral damage), when the natives have had enough and the US/NATO turns on its allies…thats when WW3 starts.
Give the world a bit more time to stew.
Answer by I love taxesthe Us should Not be involved in this! It is wrong and stupid. we fought our own civil war why can’t we let them fight theirs?Answer by haemetite
Western powers including US, UK, Canada, France, Sweden, Italy, etc are in favour of implementing a no fly zone and military intervention in Libya. Gaddafi has supporters like Russia, India, China, and South Africa who wants western powers to stop any military action in Libya, but none of them is willing to get into war from Gaddafi’s side. So I think there is hardly any possibility of another World War, as India and China are focussed on their economy, western powers are those, whom they do business with, they don’t wanna mess at this time and play wrong with their own economy, South Africa is too far and not too powerful to attack them, Russia is very powerful but will stay quiet as it is looking for better relations with west and mutual development with them.
