: Is LinkedIn a pointless piece of crap?
I’ve never heard of anyone getting a job or gaining much of anything from LinkedIn.

I was given one lead from a contact once, but personally I don’t have much use for Linkedin.
LinkedIn is as good as your “network”. But it is not magic. It is just a tool to keep those relationships alive. It is always wise to maintain work relationships with as many different, good people as you can. You can message them, you can see when their situations change and congratulate or encourage them. If you seek to encourage and help others in your network – when you need the same, you can reasonably expect the same. LinkedIn is just a tool to manage those relationships.Answer by Lupe Celaya
I think linked in is the best social network out there. It’s for people that have an interest in business. If you are not interested in business or professional work then it’s not for you. I have multiple businesses and currently starting other ones too and i’m 21. I have had so much help from linked in because all the people on it are professionals. I have gotten so much help on my business start up from linked in. Without linked in I would be nowhere close as I am right now with my businesses. It’s so much better than facebook because it’s not a site for teenagers. It’s a site for professionals and people interested in getting ahead in life.
