Vorrei: Is it possible to find a degree program in the field of computing without a strong focus on mathematics?
I’m really interested in computing but the maths side of things puts me off a bit. Just wondering if there are any degree courses that perhaps focus more on utilisation rather than the maths side of things. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

yeah there’s are loads of degrees that are about information technology/applied computing/systems engineering etc that are not particularly mathematical. You could even do some programming degrees, maybe software engineering; i think anything called computer science on the other hand is massively maths based.
There is a reason why you can’t find a program that does not rely on mathematics.
People who just want to use computers don’t get computer science degrees. They get degrees in the area where they want to work. For example, you could get a marketing degree and use software designed for marketing. You could get a design degree and use software designed for designers.
but if you want to build software, you need to learn logic — and that is a subfield of mathematics.
Answer by dvskvCOMPUTER and INFORMATION SCIENCE has many areas and no, it’s really not necessary to be a MATH WHIZ but LOGIC is key and important bec you need to be able to successfully write and understand software programming and coding if you want decent pay bec somewhere along the lines your computer skills must be above average and be able to perform computer-related tasks <- far beyond simply sitting in front of monitor and typing on keyboard
Maximum pay or even holding a IT job has to do with your technical skills and ability to be proficient at software programming and coding as a SOFTWARE DEVELOPER in several areas in particular OBJECT OREINTED PROGRAMMING, JAVA, DATAWAREHOUSING as well as the primary databases like ORACLE, MS SQL SERVER etc. Paying attention and getting your employer to pay for you to attend expensive hands-on IT training courses if you are able to master the these difficult skills may result in sitting for CERTIFICATION and if you are able to pass, then BIG BUCK$ $ as well as more job opportunities….but if you are not able to be proficient at software programming, it does limit your advanceement bec you will not be able to pass technical interviews and make contributions in jobs that pay according to your technical software programming skills.
Hope the Above Info Helps!
