Ashley A: Is it legal for a motel to have a no trespassing sign?
I turned around in a gross motel parking lot earlier, and noticed that there was a sign saying no trespassing. All that I did was turn around. When pulling out, this rude old man who obviously owned it, started yelling and cussing at me, saying that I can’t read, and to get off of his property. Is there something that I can do about that?

Personally, I would have told the old codger that I was thinking of renting a room. Until I saw the dump and the rude sign and decided against it.
he sounds like a crabby, crappy hotel owner – isn’t that punishment enough?Answer by Law Dog
Yes it is legal to post a No Trespassing sign on the parking lot to discourage loitering by non-guests.
The best thing you can do about the “rude old man” is to ignore his yelling, and drive away. No harm, no foul!
Next time, use somewhere else to turn around.Answer by TAT
HE owns the property and you are not a paying customer so the rude old man does have the right to expect you not to trespass. You can not turn around in his drive way again.Answer by dfgoodwin
Not anything you can do about it. The property is actually private and NOT PUBLIC, as another has suggested.
Take a deep breath, let it go….
Life is too short to worry about rude people.
