moosa: Is it illegal to sleep in a non-conforming bedroom (no egress window)?
I have a huge walk-in closet in my basement (with a glass-block window).
Im thinking about making it my bedroom (I own the house), and renting out my two actual bedrooms.
Could I get in trouble? Also, any room mate tips?

It’s your house, you can sleep in any room you want. The thing is it’s not a legal bedroom for renting, and you can’t say it is a bedroom when you sell the house. A lot of people have basement bedrooms without egress windows.
You are free to sleep in what ever room you choose to. You just cannot rent it as a bed room or market it as a bed room if you go to sell.
You need to find & learn the landlord tenant laws for your state before you become a landlord.
Answer by IffyYes you would be in violation of State Building Codes and Fire Codes. Your homeowner’s insurance would be void and zoning might preclude such a renovationAnswer by Landlord
Yes, it is illegal to sleep in the closet. It is a fire safety violation.
