Mad Max: Is government spending a form of taxation?
When the government borrows money and spends it, how is that different from taxation other than people don’t see it taken out of their paychecks?

A very valid point you bring up. It is how our politicians redefine labels. As far as spending, the raid on the Social Security funds and leaving the program underfunded is the most blatant unpunished crime. And now, we have “fees” instead of taxes for other programs such as national park entrance tickets. We are rapidly reaching a point where choices on how to spend the money will no longer be a choice.
Taxation funds government spending. When the government borrows money, it’s because it spends more than it collects in taxes. Somebody will have to pay it at some point.
Considering that Exxon-Mobile gets taxed at a lower percentage than a person who makes only $ 20,000 per year, yet they have posted a record profit every quarter for the last 4 years, the last at over 12 Billion in just a 3 month period, and that the richest 1% of the country pays less in taxes per dollar earned than the rest of the country, the answer is clear.
Tax us all fairly, make the rich actually pay their taxes, end corporate welfare.
