What would be better to get into the film industry a english degree or a combined english and film degree?

Emily L: What would be better to get into the film industry a english degree or a combined english and film degree?
I am unsure whether to do a english degree st university and then a postgraduate in film afterwards or do a combined english and film degree. I want to go into film and television but am unsure what option is best as i am also a avid reader and writer and want to gain the skills to write.

I would say a combined English and film degree. For graduate school you can take some aspect of film that you’ve decided you want to specialize in—sound, scriptwriting, digital effects, animation, etc. Of course, films are made by a team of people, each with their specialization. I would use graduate school to work on your specialization, and undergrad to get a broader and more historical and cultural sense of film and literature. Good luck!
