: If taxation begins in 10 days, why is it 4 years until the benefits start?
Don’t tell me the government is waiting until they have built a reserve to pay for everything, because they’ve financed everything we own until now.

So if the taxes kick in 1/1/2010, why don’t the benefits start until 2014? Hell, we went to war with the world TWICE on less than a week’s notice.

Welcome to the healthcare ponzi scheme that everyone else would be thrown in jail for if they tried something similar. That’s also why social security will go bankrupt….greedy politicans that want to buy votes.

I guess it’s not as “urgent” as the Democrats said it was to get health care for the uninsured. Surprise they lied? I’m not.

Funny how this is right after the next election. Very funny. Can hardly hold in my laughter.

Slush funds do not build themselves overnight.

2014 starts, 2016 it is missing funds and woefully underbudget….time for an increase.

Answer by yutsnark
Yeah, I’d like to see the benefits start sooner. But I’m surprised that you’re in such a hurry, since you think the bill sucks.

repeat after me……RIP OFF…and so Obama can get re elected

Answer by Oldwhiteguy2earth
This health program is not self-sustaining. It is going to cost a lot more than it brings in from premiums and taxes. In order to make it look revenue neutral, the govt. has to collect taxes long before they pay benefits to make it look somewhat balanced over a 10 year period.
