: If taxation begins in 10 days, why is it 4 years until the benefits start?
Don’t tell me the government is waiting until they have built a reserve to pay for everything, because they’ve financed everything we own until now.
So if the taxes kick in 1/1/2010, why don’t the benefits start until 2014? Hell, we went to war with the world TWICE on less than a week’s notice.

This health program is not self-sustaining. It is going to cost a lot more than it brings in from premiums and taxes. In order to make it look revenue neutral, the govt. has to collect taxes long before they pay benefits to make it look somewhat balanced over a 10 year period.
