confused21: I own a house; tenant did’nt pay rent, they left and move out then trash house n steal, is there a punishmnt?
So I own a house and rented it out to people I knew close and they lived there for a year then last couple months they started to not pay rent so we evicted them but they didn’t want to leave so we took them to court the judge ordered them to pay a reasonable settle amount. Then we were fixing up the place and the tenants came back unwelcomed to trash, break, sell our furnitures over the internet. We came back to see the place all torn apart and confused of what to do? Will these tenants get in trouble if I reported again? Where can i get resources? How can I get help?

yes you can report it again
i hope they get punished for the crimes they did
also, this is the time where you keep the damage deposit they gave you
hopefully they did give you one, and that’s something
good luck

If you can prove it is them then you should contact the police. You may also have a civil action.
See if you can find a landlord association for your state or city. Otherwise contact a lawyer.
If the damage is under $ 500, it may be easier to just let it go. Be sure to always give a bad reference if you are contacted by future potential landlords.
Answer by educated guessYou have to file a police report for theft/vandalism this time around…Answer by gafpromise
If they were out of the place at the time the damages occurred, then you can and should bring criminal charges against them. Report the incident to the police and let them take it from there. You can also bring a civil suit against them for damages to try to get reimbursed for the damages. Hope you can find them – good luck.
