Football (soccer) is not very popular in the Philippines. There are a lot of teams, and quite a lot of tournaments, but very little recognition of the sport.

I’m doing a research paper on: how to market soccer in the Philippines and make it more popular and recognized. I’d appreciate any suggestions from you guys on how to do this. Like what kind of projects the Football Federation should fund, and other stuff like freestyle competitions.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, and would help me a lot. (It might help me get a job with the football federation!)

i think when you’re trying to build up a sport, you need someone to become the face of that sport.

find the best player/most marketable player playing in the philippines and set up a marketing campaign revolving around them and their team. show highlights and to bring in an audience, have discounted tickets or promotions like freebees.

The first thing you gotta do is…BUILD MORE STINKING FIELDS. I’m serious. I love soccer but the fact that we don’t have a field in school is very…sad. Another is marketing the fact that it can also be a sport for girls. The Philippines still has this thing with boy-girl discrimination at times, and I think the important thing is to show that soccer is a sport for everyeone.

1. Inviting the top clubs of Europe (BARcelona,Milan,MU…..)
2.invite to play one natinal team of the top10 teams of the world
3. One Philippines player need to play in Europe at one good team (arenda)
4. invit to one caritable match -Zidan
5.construct more stations
6.invit the “veterans” of european football to play in Philippines
7.Invest in young players of Africa and East Europe
8.Philippines Cup :4 national teams

simple, ban basketball and start playing football from the grassroots.

if you can do away with the filipinos obsession with basketball, then soccer may have a chance.
