Jackie: How would a mother react to her child coming home from war?
I am playing the role of Mother Bailey in my school’s production of It’s a Wonderful Life, and I am struggling with what to do when my son, Harry, comes home from war in the very last scene. The director wants me to act like a mother would if her son is coming home from the war in Iraq. I’m only 16, and not a mother haha. Any suggestions??

When you see your son come back, put your hands to your mouth and tear up. Pause for a couple seconds, then mumble something as he is coming towards you, and then hug him and then say softly thank you. and rub your sons back. Don’t say i missed you, say oh thank you in a soft voice like you are telling thank you to your higher power like God
cry
hug him
laugh
be overjoyed
