And don’t answer any other question then that. We have had enough of the gas price crunch that seems to have been relieved for now. Obama is starting with a clean slate of gas prices around 2.25 a gallon.

Gas prices are low because of the economic situation. That will change, no matter what he does.

He has said he would be open to limited offshore drilling.

Fun fact: Any drilling that is done now would show no effect on the price of gas for at least five years; and even then, it would only drop a few cents.

Offshore drilling will take upwards of 30 years to start effecting the price of gas, so if gas went over $ 5 a gallon next year, it wouldn’t be because of anything Obama did or didn’t do.

Since oil prices have fallen by 60% withOUT drilling, I don’t care one way or the other.

“Drill baby drill” advocates will have to wakeup and see that oil prices are not dependent on what the USA does to increease or decrease output.

I don’t care. High prices are what we need to get people to quit relying on fossil fuels and concentrate on developing new technology. As long as gas is cheap, nobody will do anything and global warming will continue unabated.

Um just in case you avent been watching the news, Obama hahs already said he was going to stop the drilling. Not only will the price of gas go through the roof, but the cost of living is going to go through the roof and then the taxes are going to go through the roof to pay for those of us that make a living drilling for oil and gas. What is going to happen when you have 100,000 families all being laid off at the same time?

Obama voters will feel just fine. Obama voters didn’t vote for him based on anything he intends to do, they voted for him because he’s Barack Obama. If gas goes up, or goes down, if we take troops out of Iraq or move them into Afghanistan, nothing makes any difference. Obama voters won!

It is impossible to drill our way out of this mess. We only have a tiny portion of reserves and we use much more in the way of oil and gas than we could ever supply for ourselves. Coupled with the fact that this type of energy wrecks our environment, and to see a few pennies per gallon saved in 30 years? Don’t think drilling is the solution.

but I think that gas prices will go up again… because they can…

and it will be 15-20 years before a drop of oil more is produced domestically, because why should they? there is no incentive for the oil companies to hurry up and get it done… magical delay after magical delay will halt production to keep supplies low…

in other words… we’re not going to have a choice and none of it will matter…

gas is going back up REGARDLESS. It will not be Obama’s fault. Gas is down right now because of supply and demand. and because Bush wanted stuff to look good on his way out. Gas was up…and will go back up……period. Obama will NOT be the cause. sounds like a blame game to me….

we already know hes going to do his best to raise oil prices, in his whacked mind he thinks higher gas prices means less consummation, and its better money for his arabic and socialist friends overseas.

he will blame global warming for trying to change regulations on the refineries and drilling in order to have them pass the cost to us, increases taxes so we can pay for it. windfall taxes on exxon mobile so we can pay for it. etc..etc..

exxon only makes 6-7cents a gallon, refineries 6cents/per gallon and gas stations 2cents a gallon. federal government 40cents per gallon tax, state/city taxes vary 15-30+cents per gallon tax and the rest is all transportation and crude.

btw exxon spent 21billion for oil exploration last year alone. and is 3% of the worlds oil producers so when they say big oil, there is no big oil , there are many foreign oil companies that makes exxon look rather small.

we must drill for our own oil, even the chinese are drilling for there own oil 50miles off the cost of miami, they signed a deal with the cubans to do it, our own american companies cant drill that close to america.. there is something really wrong with that
