How to travel from Chicago to central Illinois with a cat?

Kaitlyn: How to travel from Chicago to central Illinois with a cat?
I just got a kitten a couple weeks ago, and I plan to bring him with me next year to live in an apartment in Chicago. Sometimes I go home to central illinois for the weekend, usually via amtrak, but they do not allow pets on board. Are there any other modes of travel that allow pets other than flying or driving?

Nope…unless you look on Craigslist and find a ride with someone who will let you bring the cat.

You’ve just eliminated flying, driving, and trains. Not much left execpt for walking or riding a bike! I’m very surprised that Amtrac won’t allow a kitten in a pet carrier, you might want to double check on that. I’m pretty sure you can do it if the animal is properly secured in a carrier.
