Ghost: How to preserve a puzzle?
I am doing a project for a birthday, and would like to preserve a puzzle and frame it. What is the best way to do this? The puzzle will most likely contain 1000 pieces. I was on planning on tackling the difficult task of just individually gluing each puzzle piece down onto a piece of cardboard, and then just simply framing it. After researching it though, I saw that that was not a popular method. I read some stuff about using contact paper…?
Any tips or help? I really want this to come out nice.

Personally, I would use spray adhesive to attach the back of the puzzle to a sheet of cork (available by the roll at the craft store) and then cover the front with clear Contac paper to keep it clean. Laminating might be difficult because of the thickness of the puzzle and the cost could be prohibitive. I have used the clear Contac paper successfully for similar projects for years.
Frame with glass front, not plastic. Put the puzzle together, flip it over using cardboard, the use a paintbrush to “paint” simple elmers glue all across the back.Answer by Then Stina Says
Put the puzzle together, picture side up, on a surface that you don’t care about, such as newspaper or cardboard… then paint a thin, even coat of mod podge over the front of the image. It dries clear and gives you a nice lacquered shine. The newspaper or cardboard is so that you don’t mess up the table underneath the puzzle if any mod podge leaks through or comes off the edge of the puzzle pieces.Answer by USPassportServiceGuide
Use a glass front instead of plastic, this way the weight will be more and less moving of the pieces. A clear contact paper is also a good idea to give it a good finish. The link below can help you with crafty ideas for your frame. 🙂Answer by zev grunwald
