Jamie: How to greet someone a “happy new year” appealingly?
I am writing cards for my neighbors greeting them a happy new year, but “have a great year ahead” sounds overused. Can you give me some other expression?
“best to you and your family” is rather overused too, and I had written that phrase in their Christmas cards. lol

“All the best for the new year, and I hope 2009 will be a year filled with joy, happiness and prosperity for you and yours”
best to you and family in 2009…Answer by VJ
I personally write something like “Here’s wishing each new day brings for you Happiness, Prosperity, and Success”
BUT, the awesome thing is that I end my cards with this great quote:
“The object of a new year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul.”
Always leaves a lasting impression on my friends and family.
Hope that helps 🙂
Happy New Year.
“Hope you enjoy your new year celebrations and don’t get too rat arsed to enjoy the rest of 2009”?
orrrr
“Well, 2008 was shit, things can only get better eh?”

Just go over and ring their doorbell at 5 am in the morning and say ”I just wanted to wish you all a great and wonderful new year…”’ that’s not overused… and it will make them get up bright and early..and they will avoid you from this day forward…if they live next door .. one can still say ”Happy new year ” to people one meets 2 weeks into the new Year.. there are still 11.5 months ahead of it and they need good luck…”Answer by B-Jo
