How to get my Halloween costume hat to stay on?

Me: How to get my Halloween costume hat to stay on?
I bought one of those generic sailor girl costumes at the Halloween store. It came with a hat that’s too small to stay on by itself, and therefore needs some other sort of support to stay on my head. The hat has two little hooks on the inside of it, but came with no elastic string, etc, etc. I’ve tried bobby pinning it but that doesn’t work either. So, any other ideas? Help is greatly appreciated.

tie a long string to the hooks. Place the string under your chin.

Or set the hat on your head and put a brick on it.

The bobby pins should work. Maybe try putting two bobby pins in each loop both facing different directions. Also make sure that you are getting it far and tight enought in your hair cuz if It is loose it is bound to fall out.

Or you could put matching colored ribbon in the loops and put it on as a headband instead of going around the chin.
