John: How to get iPhone to not capitalize “i” with Auto-Capitalization OFF and Auto-correction ON?
I have auto capitalization off and auto correction on as well as check spelling on. how do i get my phone to not automatically capitalize “i”?

The fact that you have auto correction on means that the phone will automatically correct a lower case i to a capital I, if the letter is on its own, such as “yes I see what you mean”, rather than “yes, i see what you mean”. This is because I on its own is always capitalised, as a matter of course. It won’t capitalise the I if it is part of another word, such as “in”, “bit”, etc. If you want the I to not be capitalised, you will have to switch off both the auto-capitalization and auto-correction OFF.
