Sonata: How to find accommodation in Australia for a working holiday visa holder?
I have a working holiday visa for Australia but I seem to be having trouble finding accommodation. Does anyone know how working holiday visa holders go about finding a house rental? I’m aware of the real estate finder websites, my problem is the fact that those guys require a physical inspection before they can accept your application.
If anyone has any idea what the best way to go about this is, it would be really helpful (maybe some sort of government help or something for foreigners looking to rent a house in Australia?)

It really depends on where you want to rent and what sort of accommodation you are after. It might be worthwhile to contact the real estate agency and inform them about your situation. In order to rent a house you need to be able to provide the agency with proof of income.
It might be an idea to come over here first. You could stay in a Caravan Park for a couple of days and search for a place from there.A lot of Caravan Parks offer really good facilities.
Answer by BillybeanDon’t bother trying to find a house to rent before you come here. In any event, Australian rentals are usually unfurnished. If you are working & travelling, why do you want to tie yourself down to one area – and an area that you have no idea what it is like in the first place.
Do what most backpackers do and go to a backpackers hostel in the first place while you get organised with where you are, what you will be doing and with whom.
Just type “backpacking Australia” or similar into your search engine and a whole world of info will open up.
