Kiki: How to Establish Credit?
So, I just turned 18 a few months ago and am wondering how to go about establishing credit for myself.
I tried applying for a Student credit card with no success.
Due to “No Credit History”.
I also tried applying for a phone service (a very cheap & affordable plan) with T-Mobile & yet was referred to a “Flex Pay” account, probably because i have “No Credit History”.
Does any one have any tips for me?
It would be greatly appreciated! 🙂

When I was 18, I got 2 credit cards.
One for food and one for gas.
I paid in full each month – never carrying a balance – and ended up with 800+ scores – so please – never carry a balance.
Try store cards like kohl’s, jcpenny, even gas cards.
Since this economy doesnt help this is your last option.
Go to your local bank and ask them for a secured card.
This card turns into a credit card after 6 months if you use it correctly.
That means paying the bill in full each month – no games.
If you play the minimum payment games it will hurt you and it could take years for this card to become a credit card.
Remember: use credit cards – don’t let the use you.
Pay in full each month and enjoy top scores that none of your friends will have.

First get a bank account and keep it in good standing.
Then apply for a credit card.
Some are easy to get others are harder.

Get a credit card from local bank and pay it in time. You also can use this service to avoid common mistakes while buiding credit and pre-estimate future scores for different scenarios of payments – creditreport.imess.net
