The Chief: How should I start in getting involved with politics in my city?
I live in Chicago unfortunately and day after day this city just goes further down the toilet. I honestly don’t think the people who run this city deserve there jobs and it seems like the only way to change that would be to get them out of office. What should be my first step in getting actively involved in my city’s politics.

I would leave Chicago and go somewhere else to be honest. You don’t want to get your start in a cesspool unless you plan on becoming part of it.
Start at city council meetings or even local neighbor hood representative meetings. Have a solid platform and do your home work on what your plan will be. Chicago though…Oh Boy! It will be all up-hill. And there is more then one hill.

Im guessing you like Obama because he is black and from Chicago. Well let me tell you something, he is a complete douchebag of a president.Answer by Alex Hart-smith
It depends on your political position obviously, but find candidates who you agree with and who you want to campaign for, join grassroots organisations as well and start campaigning! Knock on doors, ring people etc.Answer by Ed
Find a cause that interests you. In order to get any where in anything you have to have something your will to fight for or you won’t be willing to put the effort into it to do what needs to be done. As they say you have to have skin in the game.
