Avaldemon: How much would exam for rigid gas permeable contact lenses cost?
I have tried a lot of different types of soft contact lenses but It seems they are just not for me. My eyes are too dry to wear them and after just 2 hours is gets unbearable. I have read a lot about RGB’s. Now I want to get an exam since I know it is much more involved than with soft contact lenses. Does anyone know how much would it cost? The exam itself.

It will really depend on the office that you go to. The Optometrist office that I used to work at would charge $ 149 for a RGP contact lens exam. Other office did charge a lot more though. Location and type of office will dictate the price for the exam.
I used to have an RGP exam while doing my yearly eye exam, so the RGP exam is free. But the lens itself cost a lot.
And I didn’t feel so comfortable wearing them. It’s worse than contact. And you cannot wear it while doing sport activities because it doesn’t tightly stick in the eye like contact do. And sometimes it can go to the left or right of your eye, then you have to re-adjust it by using some techniques. Those are the cons. The pros are it can last for 5 years but you have to steam it every year, and it’s cornea-friendly.
So I decided to wear contacts coz it’s just too complicated to wear RGP.
