Nemanja: How much would a parrot such as a Amazon cost or any type of parrot, at stores such as Petland or Petsmart?
Im a kid, and im currently in pursuit of trying to convince my parents to buy me a pet. I failed epiclly on trying to get a puppy or kitten. So I would like to settle for a parrot. They are easier to maintain, and just so majestic(: so how much would a medium sized parrot cost?

I would say go to a breeder that way you see the chicks with both parents , pet shops have a big profit on such birds , if you go to a breeder they will tell you which bird best suits your lifestyle as parrots are very clever birds and the do need to be looked after very well they have to be took out and played with to keep there brains active cost wise you are looking at £400 upwards for the bird alone then you have the cage to buy which could cost you £120 – £150 then the toys after that then the food
Depends on what kind of parrot. As Brian said African Grey’s can cost anywhere between 1300.00 to 1500.00 and Amazons depending on the bird cost around the same, sometimes more. Any medium to large bird will cost 1000.00 plus dollars. Sometimes you can buy them from locals who advertise in like that classifieds. But even then you don’t know how tame the bird really is ( I learned this the hard way) How healthy they really are and essential things like that. Then if you get the bird new the cages will be between 200.00-800.00 and then you need toys, food, and perches and snacks. So it can be very, very expensive.Answer by Me
oh my god, your EXACTLY like me. my dad told me to get a parrot because he likes them, and i do too. but i thought, no way could i get £300 quickly. so now i’m currently looking up things on cockatiels. cheaper, but still brilliant. i think you should get a cockatiel.
just my opinion.
so probably the cost of a parrot is about… £100 up to i think £500

Do not buy pets from petsmart or petland. These large pet superstores do not treat their animals right, as they buy from companies that often mistreat the puppies and birds they breed in such massive quantities.
Buy from a local breeders. Will cost slightly more, but the bird you get will for sure be healthy and social and for sure for sure have experienced lots of love and care as a baby. (Breeders usually handfeed their babies)Answer by Bryan
Okay first off a parrot is not any easier then a cat or a dog by any means they are harder actually…
they require lots of attention and understanding. If you want an animal get a fish or a cockatielAnswer by medleyc1
First off either one of those places is going to cost you 2 times if not more than you would pay from a breeder. Second off if you thing getting a big parrot is easier to maintain than a dog or cat, you are sadly mystaken. I have a little sun conure that makes all the messes in my house. My eighty pound lab makes none! My bird is loud at certain times of day, my dog has never barked in the house. Those are just a few comparison. If you are looking for a cage bird, something easy to maintain, not loud, I would get a finch or canary. Any large bird requires alot more than a cage. I would also not “settle on a parrot”. They live much much longer than any cat or dog, so if over time you get sick of taking care of it, you still have quite a while before it will die off.
