How much should I pay a teenager to babysit a 9 year old girl?

OhiosGirl: How much should I pay a teenager to babysit a 9 year old girl?
We are in the midwest, Illinois to be exact. We are looking for someone to watch our 9 year old girl for about 6 hours a day, 4-7 days a week. What is the youngest teenager you would allow to babysit? Also, what is a fair wage to pay them? We are asking them to watch her in our home unless they are in the neighborhood.

I have two little boys and the girl that watches them is 18 years old. One thing I felt was a must is that they are CPR and first aid certified. There are so many babysitting courses out there it shouldn’t be hard to find someone that has taken some type of course. I pay her $ 4 per hour (which is the amount she suggested to me).

$ 150-$ 200 a week sounds fair to me.

I’m a teenager, i’m not picky or greedy. The babysitter should be @ least 16 due to more responsibilities. you should pay $ 200 or more a week dependin on if the child is a pain or not. pay more if so.
