Hoshikawa: How much of algebra one should you know before you take geometry?
Just like the title says. I know abit of algebra one and am wanting to take geometry soon, Do I need to know the whole set of algebra one to take geometry? Or is only part of it relevant to learning and using geometry?

You really don’t need much algebra for geometry.
You might need to know things like Variables (2a = 8, a=4)
mostly for formulas and whatnot. If you know the basics, you’ll be good.
Think of math as a pyramid..
Algebra is the bottom.. you may not need much, but it helps.
Im working on Fourier series in college, which is a tough subject.. algebra plays a big role.
Answer by Guitar JammanYou need to have mastered the concepts of algebra before you move on. If you do not know how to manipulate fractions and equalities then you will surely have a tough time trying to figure out missing angles and similar triangles.
While you may not need every bit of algebra you learned to move on to geometry, it will surely help you in the long run.
Answer by Andrew Scargillgeometry is not very algebra heavy, at least not at this level. It is based on proofs and postulates and theorems. it’s a lot of finding missing angles by looking at other sides and determining if they are congruent, etc…
i find either people are really good at algebra, or geometry. (that is if you are decent at math)
