Does it take longer to stop being sore or is it quicker?
For reference I got a double helix piercing about 2 months ago and it is still a little bit sore, but not too bad anymore.
Are they harder to take care of?

I got both my helix and my tragus done on the same day, so I have a pretty good idea of the comparison with the pain.
I actually found that the helix hurt more than the tragus. It does hurt when they put the jewellery in, but that’s it, after that the pain’s gone.
Getting the actually piercing hurts no worse than a normal ear lobe piercing.
The helix takes longer to heal because there’s not much blood at that part of the ear so it takes longer for it to heal. The tragus takes about 4-6 months.
They’re pretty easy to take care of; slightly harder than the helix.
