How much can I sell my guinea pigs for?

megan M: How much can you sell your guinea pigs for?
I want to sell my pigs babies but the petshop pays me only $ 2 each and then sells them for $ 5. What kind of money have any of you sold for? What does your petshop pay? How easy is it to get rid of them?

At my local petstore guinea pigs retail for $ 29-40 apiece. I would suggest placing an advertisement on a website like Craigslist and selling them that way.

In my petshop, They wouldn;t pay me @ all if i giv them guinea pigs, but i would sell it 2 maybe a close friend or just give it to people that u know that would take good care of them, it will be better for them. But i f u sell it 2 someone, i would sell maybe like 8 bucks per guinea pig.

Ok, I live in South Africa, so here my local petshop sells them for R60 (babies) and R50 (adults). That works out to be about $ 6.50 – $ 7 for a guinea pig. They aren’t kept in very good conditions though.
I would sell them for a good price that is a little expensive, because people that really want them and are prepared to look after them will pay good money for a guinea pig, so try go a bit high, but not too high on the prices.
Take them to a shelter or a person that loves guinea pigs so that they can find good and loving homes for them.
