Jeff S: How long does the Bible say to wait before having sex after giving birth?
I just had a baby 5 weeks ago and am curious what the bible says about having sex. I know their are a specific # of days it actually says but am not sure where to find them in the bible, but I have heard it before.

Talk to a DOCTOR PLEASE!!!
There is a difference depending on if it is a boy or girl child, as giving birth to a girl child is seen as being more unclean.
I think I can find the passage on that to back up my claim, give me a minute or two.
Here it is: Leviticus 12
Purification After Childbirth
1 The LORD said to Moses, 2 “Say to the Israelites: ‘A woman who becomes pregnant and gives birth to a son will be ceremonially unclean for seven days, just as she is unclean during her monthly period. 3 On the eighth day the boy is to be circumcised. 4 Then the woman must wait thirty-three days to be purified from her bleeding. She must not touch anything sacred or go to the sanctuary until the days of her purification are over. 5 If she gives birth to a daughter, for two weeks the woman will be unclean, as during her period. Then she must wait sixty-six days to be purified from her bleeding.
Of course, there are Christians who say Jesus fulfilled the OT laws, meaning to them it is okay according to their religious beliefs for you to “lie with” a farm animal as soon as you are ready after giving birth.
Answer by KL40 days for a male child and 66 for a female child, from Leviticus 12. But doctors tell you 6 weeks for either these days, because there’s a wound in your uterus from where the placenta detached and you don’t want to introduce anything foreign into there (like sperm) so as to avoid serious infection.Answer by ahavahforjesus
Leviticus 12 ( all)
However remember that we are no longer under the laws of the OT, Jesus came to fulfill it. I am sure 6 weeks is fine 🙂
