It can last for your whole life.

If those people get married, it is rare nowadays, but they can stay together and still be as in love as the day that they got married.

Love lasts only as long as people stay in love. It can last six minutes, six days, weeks,years or whatever. There is no time limit. Look at some of your friends. I’ll bet some have been in and out of love within a matter of months…and others have been in love for years. Mostly, love depends on each party understanding themself well enough to know what they want and be willing to exert the effort to make it happen. If you love someone, you are willing to accept them the way they are, warts and all, and willing to accept yourself and your reaction to them. And they the same. As long as you can accept yourself, you can stay in love with someone else.

I have heard a couple years but more recently 6 to 18 months tops, your body emits a drug “pea” and when the drug wears off, you more or less fall out of love . I don’t think it is true though, maybe some of the infatuation wears off but I have never experienced the 18 month limit. I have cared about females for years and years. some people like to feel in control like psychics and love wizards due to a feeling of insecurity, don’t believe them.
some people remain in love with people for their entire lifetime.
