kb: How long does it take to finalize a divorce in the Coptic Orthodox Church in Egypt?
I have a friend whose husband wants a divorce. He married her unwillingly and has not consummated the marriage. He is in love with someone else and has been having an affair. He has been adulterous. Does she have to be willing to divorce or can he make the decision alone? Do you think the church will allow for them to divorce? How long does it take to get a divorce in the Coptic Orthodox church?

Orthodox church doest let you divorce unless there is something SERIOUS going on…And if he was unfaithfull and the wife decides to divorve then yes.. but it really depends on the parish . If they dont have kids yet they might let him divorce her.
… at least in da us (if its been – less than a year) it cn b ‘annulled’ aka lik it neva happend ~ consummation doesnt matta; dont kno if otha spouse needz 2 b informd!…Answer by Caesar
