Jonathan: How long does a movie stay in the cinema?
I want to see scream 4 on may 21 2011 but it comes out on April 15 2011. Is there any chance that it will be in the cinema.

depends how good it is, or how popular. maybe two weeks…at least in my town…maybe less?
there is maybe, maybe a 2% chance that it will be in the theaters for that long, but obviously a bigger chance that it will not be there. You are talking 5 weeks, that is 5 weeks of movie releases and Scream 4 will have to be bringing in big dollars, week in and week out. I say give scream 4 – 3-4 weeks top.
Movies stay in the cinema as long as people are coming to see them, some runs are as little as 2 weeks and some can go up to 3 months.
Answer by JohnI would not count on Scream 4 being in theaters on May 21. Movies stay in theaters for different lengths of time based on how many tickets they are selling and agreements between distributors and theater chains. It could be as little as one week or a couple of months. It also depends on how many movies come to the theatre during a given time and with the end of May marking the beginning of the crowded summer movie season Scream 4 will have had to do very well at the box office to stick around.Answer by Susan Ramsey
mostly movies are at the theaters for around 3 or 4 months. then a month or 2 at 2nd rate movie theaters. so pretty sure it will still be at the theaters in may.Answer by A Yahoo! user
