Kristin: How long do I wait to get my piercing redone?
I just took out my rook piercing after I decided it was rejecting, and I have a couple questions…
How long do I wait to get it re pierced?
Is there a chance of it rejecting again? (I got it pierced at a cheap place and only paid $ 20 for it, I plan to go to a legit Professional.)
Thank you in advance!

If your body is rejecting it, its more than likely because of cheap jewelry, or your not cleaning it. as long as there is no infection in the area, you can get it repierced. Take better care of it next time and use stainless steel as jewelry.
Personally I would wait until it’s completely healed (or very close) and I would have them pierce beside where it was the first time. Otherwise there will be more scar tissue build up which can lead to problems.
There’s always a chance that it could reject again, but if you use higher quality jewellery (stainless steel) there’s a smaller chance because it won’t irritate as much. It also helps if your piercer is a trained professional who knows what they’re doing and is using the necessary tools.
I would wait as least a month, but people’s bodies are different and you might heal really quickly. When you go in, tell your piercer what happened and get their opinion because they’re a professional and will know exactly what to do to someone in your situation.
Good luck.
