xr0b0t: How important is it to take physics before attending college if you’re majoring in biochemistry?
I don’t plan to take physics in high school next year, because I’ve been told we have a terrible teacher and he apparently gives a huge homework load that I definitely don’t need this year. I am planning to take it over the summer at a local community college, but if it’s not too necessary, then I can have a little more free time this summer.

Physics is important in understanding some of the natural laws affecting molecules. That being said, I do not believe it is entirely necessary to take it before college. You will learn enough physics in your biochemistry/chemistry classes to be proficient in biochemistry and you can always take a physics class while in college. Knowing physics beforehand will help in the actual physics class (which is probably required for a biochemistry major) but won’t necessarily help you as much in your biochemistry/chemistry class.
