: How hard is the maths in a foundation degree in engineering and technology?
Hey, I 1st applied to Computer Technology in John Moores university, they rang me and said i didnt have high enough grades. So they offered me a foundation degree in engineering and technology, which i just noticed has 3 maths units. I am bad at maths! I got a C at GCSE. I am doing a BTEC computing corse at the minute, which has 3 maths units and they are quite hard, but im passing. How hard would this courses maths be? Thanks

A moment’s reflection should reveal to you that there exists no scale against which to measure this kind of hardness. Any hardness assessment is highly subjective, depending totally on an individual’s aptitudes and interests. Your question is therefore meaningless, although your concern not so.
You seem to see yourself as somewhat deficient in maths. This can cause you to get caught in a downward spiral of diminishing enthusiasm due to worsening performance. On the other hand, by a concerted effort, you should be able to “get out of the rut” and start getting on top of the subject. There’s no reason (other than a reluctance to work) against achieving that, for first-degree maths is not beyond the reach of anyone of average intelligence. It’s just numbers. Anyhow that’s about how it went for me!
