Buddhism isn’t like Christianity in that you need to drown yourself to gain some kind of insight into the way of life. Basically just look into the Buddhist community near you and set up a meeting- if you wish to achieve the peace that comes with Buddhism it’s a pretty big commitment.Answer by Cassie T
No, it’s very easy really. Buddhists are the ultimate laid back religion (although they don’t really refer to themselves as religious – and they’re right, since they don’t really have a “god”).
Most cities nowadays have a Buddhist center where meditations and discussions are held. Start attending them, learn the philosophies, and get to know people. It’s that simple. There is no “conversion” ceremony.
Answer by damienbfreehop on the bus gus. Make a new plan stan. No need to be coy roy, just study buddhism. Identification with ideas is very non-buddhist so that would be a good first step. Imagine yourself free to choose or drop ideas any time they no longer are useful or valid.Answer by _Donnie__
Catholic and Buddhism are very different religion.. it all really depend on how deep u were into God. Catholic there is only the supreme God, the Buddha should be worship as a great teacher with respect and loyalty.Answer by valhall13
It is so easy to convert.
All you have to do is say I take refuge in the Buddha the Dharma and the Sangha and that’s it. You’re done.
Depending on the type of Buddhism you wish to practice you may wish to seek out a qualified teacher.
Best wishes.

May I recommend the practice of Falun Gong ? The conversion is simple and no formal ceremony is required for Falun Gong. Reading the scripture, meditation, and improving one’s character are required as a Falun Gong practitioner.
For introductory scripture, you can read ‘China Falun Gong’, available on the web. For advanced practice read Zhaun Falun. Guided meditation demonstration video, meditation music, and books about Falun Gong are free to download from the URL listed below. If you need any help, contact a local practitioner in your area for free instructions.
Falun Gong is a unique Buddhist School, found in 1992 by Master Li Hongzhi in China. About 100 million people practice in over 80 countries worldwide. Falun Gong is an ancient practice for the body, mind, and spirit based upon the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance. Falun Gong consists of five sets of powerful exercises.
Falun Gong, Tibetans, other Buddhists, and Christians have been persecuted in China. The most offensive human right violation is the organ harvesting from the Falun Gong practitioners in China.

From what I have heard it is not. I am actually on the same boat as you are. Just talk to someone Buddhist center to help you out. Reading a couple books is a good idea too. Good luck.
