Amber P: How Does Gene view friendship in a Separate Peace by John Knowles?
So far, my best guess is that he sees friendship as a way to please his friends. For example, When he allows Finny to train him for the Winter Olympics even though it will not occur due to the war.
Thanks In Advance 🙂

gene took sports out of finny’s life forever. and i think he let finny train him as a way to make up for it. not just ‘pleasing’ him.
friendship means competition for gene. the competetion that only really existed for gene in his friendship with finny intensifies to a onesided rivalry. take it from there.
