A computer virus is not a virus like you would get. It is a program written by someone to deliberately do damage to another person’s computer; in this case yours. They get transmitted from one computer to another by downloading files of any type including emails or going to and opening a file on a website that is infected.
What you’re doing is right. Keep your virus and malware scanners updated. No computer is 100 % secure unless you never connect it to the internet. Even then you could get a virus from shared files using a disc someone gave you.
Answer by JimWhy don’t you google this topic? To give you a brief answer, yes, people write malicious code using a simple compiler or even a command line language. The code can be written in C or C++ or it can even be written in lower level languages like binary itself or in what is called Assembly Language. I would say that most malicious code is written in assembly language, which means, you have to write the code according to a specific CPU processor platform. Higher level language allows you to make broader code applicability, but opens your program up to being back-engineered.
This is the short answer to your question.
So now, if I were you, if you want to learn how malicious code is developed, visit any number of security sites on the net that explain it in detail.
